Fabric. A huge colour and texture range. More comfortable in Kolkata heat. Requires vacuuming and occasional spot cleaning. Performance fabrics with stain resistance are the practical choice for homes with children.
Leather. Luxurious, durable, ages well. Wipes clean easily. Can feel warm in summer without air conditioning.
Rexine (PU leather). More affordable than genuine leather. Adequate quality at higher grades. Avoid cheap rexine on chairs in direct sunlight — it peels and cracks.
Velvet. The most luxurious option for accent chairs. Shows pulling from cats and pets. Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
